The Glass De Vine pergola in the "secret garden" on the south side of the studio, is affectionately referred to as "The Breakroom" Welcome to Glass De Vine’s Web Site Inspired by Patty’s passion for gardening and desire to create glass art that is both functional and affordable, Larry and Patty began Glass De Vine in 2003. At first, the focus was creating a variety of tables and the Classic Garden Panel and Garden Stakes. Soon after the first few Art Festivals and based on customer response, Larry and Patty began creating new glass art that was especially designed for the garden. In 2009 they added several new Garden Panels to complement the Arbors, Light Towers, Water Walls, Garden Edgers, Obelisks, and Trellises that had been growing in popularity. Patty says “It’s fun and exciting to dream up new things to make, things that I want in my own garden,” and that’s how most of our new art gets created. Another way is by paying attention to what customers want. “We really embrace doing custom work for people; it’s how we’ve come up with many new items,” Larry says. “The Media Table, Extra Long Sofa Table, Small Rectangle Accent, are just a few examples”. The other things that inspire new art are happy accidents like when Patty took a small plant stand that Larry built and put it upside down on another table and said “ I know, I’ll put plants in the bigger table and a piece of glass on the feet of the little table,” and the Tea Table was born. The 2010 year looks to be the most exciting yet with the addition of new studio space, new shows scheduled during the year, and a bigger and better Home Studio Sale planned for August. So if you’re new to Glass De Vine, welcome and please contact us with any questions you may have. If you’re already a customer who is visiting our web site for the first time, I’ll bet you thought we would never get this web site done. Ha! |
